She had never yet decided to venture into the gardens, and had only even noticed it from one of the highest towers on the Hogwarts grounds. The afternoon has brought in a warm set of rays that washed over the various array of scented blooms, shading only select parts under the tresses that hung gleefully over the stones. Earlier that day she grabbed a quick lunch and poured some lime water into a jug and was now, as she sat upon a slick stone slab, sipping it between reads of various books on Divination and Potions, two of the classes she had already selected for the term. Her trusty fashioned bag sat just under the bench, propped lightly against the feet.
The breeze itself was just right: not as dormant as it was earlier in the day while the sun blazed, but currently it took wisps from Erin's braids and pushed them across her shoulders and peachy cheeks. The flicker of footsteps and small snickers of several student were heard as they strolled through the gardens, but she was never less disturbed. Her eyes fluttered intently over the pages of her books, the pages worn and bent at the edges, every so often coming to n ink scribble or coffee stain; the leather felt warm against her skin. As she read her legs dangled, her toes pointed and her Chucks wiggling gracefully with each word; ".. many say the importance of such a concoction is to alleviate the misfortune from one wizard... but haphazardly thrown together it could result in much harsher a consequence." The words washed into her mind as she rarely interprited their meaning. In-fact, she was skimming.
Your Character Full Name: Bram Palmer. Nickname(s): Bram. Gender: Male. Age: 23. Nationality: Dutch / English. Languages Spoken: French, English, Dutch. Sexual Orientation: Straight. Occupation: Part-time coffee shop employee.
Family Members: Alison Fletcher-Palmer, mother. Gregor Palmer, father./list] Pets: Alva, blue merle boarder collie bitch Stable: Ontrium Farm -- I think I may start him as a trainer at an already established stable, although Ontrium could be his petite stable and he could work part-time in another.
Appearance Body Shape: Bram is fit, with a very toned physique. He takes after both of his parents in this aspect: his mother, a teacher, is very slender and petite while his father is a bit taller and built. Decorations: None. Hair: Bram has dark brown hair, different from the traditionally blond or light brown that runs in his family. The deepness of his hair further accents his features. Eyes: He has hazel eyes, not complete jaw-dropping, but interesting all the less. Despite their color, they are one of his most expressive features. Height: Six feet, two inches tall. Not the best for ponies. Weight: This is a touchy subject, but he is average. In pounds. Skin Colour: Notably 'caucasian.' Anything Else: Nothing in particular really. He highly resembles Adam Brody.
Personality and History
Likes:[list] America. Traveling. Coffee and Beer. His horses. Women. Comic books. Books, in general. His Ford.
Dislikes:Cheaters Trainers [ hah... -cough- ]. Animal abuse. Reality TV. Arrogance / Liars. Personality: Generally, Bram is very laid back. He enjoy simplicity and the mellow atmosphere he gets at home, however, like all equestrians, he is slightly cocky and becomes very aggressive when in training. This may, in fact, be his downfall. Usually, his competitive nature becomes a very vital aspect of competition, but can also lead to trouble. As a young amateur, he is still learning the basics of American competition, especially since moving from his junior Dutch career, to the United States in 2006. Some describe him as reliable, which he is, others call him trustworthy, again, very much true; he is sensible, and uses his head.
History: Bram Patrick Palmer was born in Antwerpen, Belgium in 1984, January 13th to be exact. He is the only child of his English European mother, and his Dutch-bred father: Alison and Gregor. His eastern European background contributes to his influences: speaking dutch, French and English, as well as being an overall gentleman. He was raised in academy's, playing rugby until he started Uni. Previously, however, at age ten, Bram and his parents moved into a flat not far from The University of Edinburgh in Scotland, where his father is still instructing, and where Bram first got a taste of the equestrian lifestyle. Until this point he insisted on his school work, but quickly got distracted with his father's disapproval, and jumped head-first in the equestrian world. Starting in polo, he began without the essentials, but soon fell under German trainer Elke Sulzberger, where she instructed him until age fifteen. Despite her feminine nature, she was hardly delicate and Bram mistook this as disliking. The pair continued to bicker between sessions, Bram retaining several injuries and several riding denials because of his pig-headiness. Eventually, he began to travel throughout Europe for show, competing in jumpers on a friend's mare, Chantella, where he contended to several medals and reserves, or simply worked as a groom for various clients.
At age twenty-two Bram Palmer jumped over the puddle, leaving his equestrian career in Europe to compete against the worlds top American riders. Although currently horseless (and never owned his own before this), he has settled into a respectable neighborhood flat on the eastern [ western? ] coast, where he is looking for post part-time work, and a property of his own.
Current Status: Single. Children: None.
Other: Excellence Forever
