 Tired of Waiting. [CAVVIE!]

[OOC] Lmao the subject works in two ways! Haha [/OOC]

A sigh left Maria's lips as she swirled the red and white straw around in the plastic cup that held her coke. Sat in the famous Subway where baguettes were made freshly and to your own specific order, Maria couldn't help but feel a little unwanted. She loved Nick to bits and don't get her wrong she knew Nick loved her but to watch her own daughter marry to her true love before her really made her feel old and unwanted. Nick was an amazing guy and a perfect boyfriend, so it was not his fault at all she felt this way infact he really didn't have anything to do with him. She was just really down. Brushing a few strands of her chocolate brown hair her blue eyes watched the coke swirl around due to the motion of the straw. A half eaten turkey, cheese, lettuce, and mayo baguette laid on the table along with an unopened packet of salt and viniger crisps. She hadn't eaten much. She was grateful for Lexi taking over the running of GMR Equestrian, as that took a lot of stress off her head but it also left her a lot of time to think about her depressing past and her unknown future.

Nick was out of his element whenever there wasn't a horse nearby, but I guess you can't pick them up and carry them with you everywhere. He descended the steps down onto the subway level. It was sorta like stepping down into a lower world. He smelled the vendors and all their enticing merchandise. He wasn't here for food though. As a matter of fact, he'd already eaten earlier with Beth at the track's concession stand. Flaw had looked good today. He sharply shook his head. He wasn't here to think of his horses, Maria took precedence over that.

Eyes scanned the weaving crowds as my eyes searched for a familiar face. Jackie had said he could find her here, but where was here among this throng of people?

She was sat in the healthier fast food joint known as Subway. It made fresh baguettes on demand and to your specific order. She wasn't that hungry to be honest but she had to get away from GMR. It was sickening to watch her daughter prance about lovestruck with a ring on her finger, when she was single at her age with the amount of children she had. Why couldn't any relationship stick with her? Was there something that wrong with her? Nick made her feel amazing, more then any guy had ever made her feel but if this didn't work out what would happen? How could they go back to friends? She didn't want to lose him... Ever. She loved him so much. He was phenominal. Sighing she left the straw alone finally and sat back in the chair, tilting her head back as she let out a soft sigh. She wished Nick was here to make her feel better. Sitting up she looked at her mobile phone laid on the table considering calling him. Nick could always make her feel better no matter what...

A certain brunette head caught my eye, as I gazed through the window of the neighborhood Subway. She was always worried about her firgure. She looked perfect to him in just about everyway. He saw her gaze at her cell, a quiet smile forming on his face. My hand groped into my pocket revealing a cell, her number already being dialed. Gotta love that speed dialing!

He waited as the tone rang.....

She jumped at least two feet when her phone rang, a look of shock on her face before she settled herself down.God, this is so wierd... Picking up her mobile she answered, wondering who could be calling her.

"Hello, Maria Esperanza here, how may I help you?"

After all her mobile number was listed on the ways to contact GMR Equestrian, so it was a natural way for her to answer. Then again she did answer the office phone back at the yard more then anyone else. She was relieved though she had more help, she now had more time to herself although right now that seemed to be doing harm then not.

A smile was all I could say initially. Then I quickly found my voice, doing my best to mask my identity.

Ah, Yes, This is Chris Kats...I'm interested in one of your little ladies that you have for lease at GMR?

She sighed, her mood coming through on the phone. She was not in the mood to help anyone, which was definately saying something as she loved to help people. Eyes closed she rubbed her forehead, trying to at least fake being cheerful which usually she was an expert at but she just couldn't do it this time.

"I'm sorry I'm away from the office right now. I can give you the number to the office phone if you'd like and you can speak to our manager there, a miss Taylor Lexi Gabriel."

My eyes twinkled as I heard the frustration coming through the ear piece. She was in for a ride...

Darn. Because I was hoping to talk with her over lunch....Guess I'll just have to ask out this Miss Taylor.....

He moved close as he tapped the brunette on the shoulder, eyes alight with mischief.

Not very civil on the phone are we?

If Maria had actually been listening to the guy on the phone she would have known it was Nick. Since she wasn't and trapped in a depressing nightmare she didn't realise it. Feeling a tap on her shoulder she swatted the hand away irratably before actually turning in her seat to give the person a piece of her mind. Did the person not realise she was on the phone?! Thats when she saw Nick. Relief flooded through her as she jumped up out of her seat and wrapped her arms around his neck as she buried her head into his strong shoulder. She wanted to cry out of relief, but forced back the tears. Just glad Nick was there. She knew she shouldn't be upset that her own daughter had found her true love and married before she did, but she was. It was heartbreaking. Was she really that lousy of a girlfriend, wife or mother?

"I'm so sorry... I didn't know it was you."

He sensed this feeling of depression about her and hugged her all the more tighter. He stepped back an understanding eye glancing over her. He could tell something was bothering her.

It's alright, I can tell when I'm not wanted. He teased as he kissed her lightly on the cheek.

You doing alright Maria? You seem distressed about something. He made himself comfortable as he pulled up a chair, heart willing to love and ears willing to listen.

She wasn't sure if she should talk about what was bothering her with him. After all, she didn't want to pressure him into anything, or do anything just to make her feel better. She wanted this relationship to last, and so far none of her marriages had. Could she really risk that with him? She sat down on his lap as she put her left arm around his neck and laid her right arm on her lap. She just wanted to be close to him.

"Its just when I was young, I always imagined I'd be married to an amazing guy as I watched my children walk up the aisle. Watching Jackie wed her true love, I just feel like I'm a failure. I've been married more times then I want to remember and none of them have ever worked out, most of them leaving me with an additional child. This isn't how my life was supposed to go..."

She knew she couldn't predict her destiny or control her life to the point of reaching her goals exactly when she wanted, but when you watch your teenage daughter complete your own goals, you can't help but feel like a total failure. Nick was her best friend, and her boyfriend. She knew she could confide in him, she could tell him anything, but she didn't want to lose him. Any of the other guys she dated she could tell them what exactly she wanted and felt, but with Nick she was careful. He meant the world to her and to lose him would be the biggest tragedy of all.
